Hello everyone,
I know, I know. It’s been a while since I last said something.
But after a few years of planning, overthinking, re-thinking, and banging my head at walls, I can finally say this with some confidence: my third book is on the way. Sooner rather than later.
A quick, transparent note... I won’t be returning to my previous publisher. The support just hasn’t been there, and the profit split doesn’t make sense for me, so I’m stepping away.
...and this actually works out nicely for you.
Since I’m not getting paid anyway, I figured I’d do something a little more fun and a little more honest this Christmas. I’m giving away the ebook versions of my first two books. Completely free. No catch. No mailing list. No data harvesting. No social security number required.

Here’s the very straightforward deal:
Step 1
Email me at thenicholasong@gmail.com
.
Use a subject line like: “I want the books.”
Tell me if you want one or both, and I’ll send the ebook(s) to you. Free.
Step 2 (optional)
I have a small number of paperback copies of my second book, Bedtime Stories for the Ill. They’re $25 USD. If you’d like one signed and posted, email me and I’ll quote shipping for you. Tell me if you'd like a message too.
Step 3
In that same email, tell me something about horror in literature. A short idea. A creature. A mood. A bad omen. A tiny plot. Anything. This part isn’t a test — it just keeps things interesting for me too.
Step 4
Wait. I usually check emails daily, so I’ll get back to you pretty quickly.
Step 5
If you read the book(s), whether you love them or hate them, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think. If you’re up for it, please leave a review on Goodreads.com. Honest thoughts only. No pressure to be kind.
Optional Step
If you enjoy the books, feel free to tell people about them. Pass the free copies on. Share them. Send them around. Duplicate the files and let them travel wherever they end up. I’m completely fine with that.
Stories are meant to be read, not locked away.
At some point in the future, I may re-release my first two books elsewhere, somewhere that actually lets me see the profits.
But that’s a problem for future-me.
For now, happy holidays.
And if you’d like to read my work, you know exactly what to do.
Cheers lovlies
xoxo
Nicholas Ong
